Latest Updates from Our Project:

We're Still Making Progress! Here's an Update
about 1 year ago – Mon, Apr 17, 2023 at 03:17:50 PM

My daughter had major cancer surgery in March. I'm staying at her house to help out during the slow recovery. The doctor warned us everything would take more time than we expected, but it's still frustrating, and I haven't gotten as much done on the Tabletop Math Games Collection books as I'd hoped.

That said, I think we're still on track to hit our reward deadlines. I'll keep you updated as things move forward.

This week, I plan to lock down the orders on BackerKit and charge your credit cards for any add-on purchases. You'll be getting a notice from BackerKit when that happens, so I wanted to warn you it was coming.

I'm also working to finish up the digital book files. I hope to wrap those up this week and send them out to you before the end of April.

Several of you haven't filled out your surveys on BackerKit. Remember, that's where you'll download your digital reward files, so get those surveys done! (If you can't log in at https://mathgames.backerkit.com, send me a message and I'll try to get you fixed up.)

And once again, thank you all so much for supporting my books.

Denise

P.S.: Another Project You May Enjoy

The Infinite Pickle: Puzzles for Kids, Educators, Parents and Puzzlers

Gordon Hamilton (founder of the fantastic Math Pickle website) presents fourteen of his best math and logic puzzles in this new book, along with variations and extensions ranging from easy to "scary."

Even if you're not planning on buying a copy, you can download the digital file for free. So check out this great campaign and get ready for infinite math joy!

First Rewards Released -- Did You Get Yours?
about 1 year ago – Wed, Mar 29, 2023 at 12:09:19 PM

Hello, again, to all you wonderful people!

I've just released your first digital rewards on BackerKit. You may have already received an email notification.

Digital downloads are stored on your survey confirmation page, so if you missed the notification, you can click the link in your survey email or follow the instructions below.

This release includes:

  • the Playful Math Tipsheet
  • Enchanted Forest and Penrose Cubes coloring pages
  • and all the weekly Geometric Coloring Design bonus books

If you didn't get the notification email, check your spam folder. To make sure that future messages don't get caught in spam, add [email protected] to your address book.

Several of you still haven't filled out your survey. I need your information to fulfill the rest of your reward! If you lost your survey invitation, go to the BackerKit project page (https://mathgames.backerkit.com) and enter the same email address you used on Kickstarter).

When all the surveys come in  (or by April 24th at the latest), I'll lock down the preorder store and send out the next batch of digital rewards.

Meanwhile, I hope these first books give you some interesting ideas for playing with math.

Best wishes to you all, and thanks again for your support!

Denise

P.S.: A note for Apple ID backers:

Backers who have pledged to the campaign using their AppleID but haven’t completely set up their Apple Pay account (linking their email address to their Apple Wallet) may have issues receiving their emails from BackerKit.

Those backers have a @privaterelay.appleid.com email address and will need to reach out to BackerKit Support to update their email address in BackerKit.

You’ll be able to reach out to BackerKit Support by clicking the “need help” link from the Lost Survey page:  https://www.backerkit.com/are_you_a_backer. When you write to Support, please provide your name and your Kickstarter pledge number, which can be found in your Kickstarter pledge confirmation email.

Survey Time: Watch for Yours!
about 1 year ago – Mon, Mar 13, 2023 at 08:27:51 AM

Over the next few days, we'll be sending out the post-campaign surveys. These will come through BackerKit, the company that helps manage our rewards.

Unlike with other stores, Kickstarter surveys are NOT optional. Think of this as confirming your order information, so we can send out your rewards.

Please fill out your survey as soon as possible!

You will be able to update your shipping address later, right until it's time to mail the books. So don't delay your survey, even if you know you'll be moving. We need the other information now.

And save the survey email! You'll use the same link to download all your digital rewards and bonus books.

The survey also gives you another chance to pick up any of the add-on items you may have missed in the campaign, including the exclusive 5x7 art print we unlocked in the final hours. Even if you ordered a digital reward, BackerKit will let you add on paperbacks or merchandise --- if you live in one of the countries we can ship to.

BackerKit also provides a temporary online store for any of your friends who may have missed the Kickstarter. For a limited time, anyone can place a preorder for the Tabletop Math Games Collection books (or any of the other items in the add-on section).

https://mathgames.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

I'll lock down the preorder store when I'm ready to place the Kickstarter order with my printer.

There's always a lot to do after a Kickstarter, but we're making progress. Thank you for your support --- and for your patience as we work through it all.

Best wishes!

Denise

We Funded. So, What Comes Next?
about 1 year ago – Mon, Feb 27, 2023 at 07:53:23 AM

I'm so grateful to all of you for so generously backing my Tabletop Math Games Collection books.

Now that our campaign has run its course, here is what will happen next:

(1) Kickstarter will charge your credit card for your pledge, if they haven't done so already. They'll let you know when your payment has gone through. If your charge didn't clear, they'll send you a reminder to fix your billing information.

(2) Sometime in the next week or two, I'll send you a survey form through BackerKit, my reward managing service. Fill that out right away! That is how you tell me what name to put on the Special Thanks page and where to send your books. Also, you'll have one more chance to grab any of the add-on rewards you missed (plus a few extras that just didn't fit on Kickstarter).

(3) When we get all the surveys back, I'll send out your bonus books, with plenty of ideas to keep your students playing with math while you wait for the math game books.

Shipping Schedule:

* March 2023 --- We'll be waiting on Kickstarter to release the project funds. You should receive your Playful Math Tipsheets, the Enchanted Forest Coloring Page, and the weekly bonus books by the end of March. I'll send these downloadable files through BackerKit, so be sure to fill out your survey.

* April 2023 --- Meanwhile, I'll be finishing up the last details on the layout and illustrations for the Stretch Goal chapters of the Tabletop Math Games Collection books. As soon as the paperback file heads to the printer, I'll send out the ebooks to everyone who ordered those. You should receive all your digital book rewards through BackerKit by the end of April.

* July 2023 --- Finally, print books will go out as soon as I can get them. Printing is the area most prone to delays. But with reasonable luck, all paperback and merchandise book rewards should be in the mail by the end of July.

If you're moving, don't worry. You can update your mailing address any time before the books ship.

Best wishes that 2023 will be a great year for playing math with your kids!

Denise

P.S.: The votes are in. Our final bonus game will be Function Machine. For those who supported the other options, you'll have another chance next year when the Tabletop Math Games Collection Volume 2 comes to Kickstarter.

WE DID IT!!!
about 1 year ago – Thu, Feb 23, 2023 at 07:35:46 PM

Thank you for your wonderful support of my Tabletop Math Games Collection campaign!

This has been a fun project for me, and I hope you all enjoyed it, too. We hit our funding goal and plenty more, funding three extra game chapters and a special vinyl sticker with the Penrose triangle rainbow cubes.

And we passed our final stretch goal at the last minute, too. So everyone who bought the Omnibus edition gets a 5x7 art print of "Gaming in the Enchanted Forest" -- which will also be available in the add-on store for anyone to buy.

Remember: Everyone who backed the campaign at $25 or more gets your name on the "Special Thanks" page in the Deluxe Omnibus edition.

If you want this page to show a different name from the one you used on Kickstarter, be sure you answer your post-campaign survey from BackerKit right away. Watch for details coming soon.

You all are wonderful people, and I'm so proud to have your help in bringing this new set of playful math books to life. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Denise

P.S.: I'm still taking votes for our third bonus game. You can comment here or send me a direct message.
