Hello, friends!

I hope you continue to enjoy playing with math.

Since you supported my work in the past (and thank you for that!), you may also be interested in my newest project coming to Kickstarter next month, Math Journaling Adventures: Creative Logbooks for All Ages.

To give you a taste of the logbooks, here's a free printable journaling prompt: Juego del Oso.

Don't miss out! I'm offering Earlybird discounts to backers who support the project on launch day.

Because writing is a great way to consolidate our thoughts and create new understanding -- even in math.

Best wishes!

Denise

The Goblin Guide to Advanced Dice Rolling

An introductory guide to dice math and mechanics so simple a goblin can understand.

The Goblin Guide to Advanced Dice Rolling gives you all the eldritch mathematical techniques to divide and multiply standard dice to create new exciting and/or forbidden dice numbers you’d never imagined before!

But it’s much more than just that. The Goblin Guide to Advanced Dice Rolling also delves into dice systems, going over how dice are used in your favorite—and even least favorite—games! Digging deep into the procedures, probabilities, advancement, popular variations, and pros and cons of roll-over, roll-under, dice pool, and dice index systems. Providing simple and essential information for aspiring tabletop game developers, or just players who want a little more insight into the math that’s going on behind the rules.

We're Done! All Orders Have Been Shipped
over 2 years ago – Mon, Jul 24, 2023 at 01:04:46 PM

I'm thrilled to report that all of the books and swag for the Tabletop Math Games Collection are in the mail.

Most of you should have received your copies by now. But if they haven't yet arrived, you can find the tracking information on your Backerkit survey page. (Go to https://mathgames.backerkit.com to sign in.)

If you are missing any rewards or have any problems at all, please let me know. You can message me on Kickstarter or use the contact form at https://denisegaskins.com/about.

For those who bought the grade-level books, you'll notice we were able to upgrade to full color just like the deluxe omnibus edition. If you were planning to photocopy game pages for a class or math circle, you can use the printable files which include both color and ink-saving black-and-white pages.

I've also updated all the printable math game booklets, fixing a few typos and lightening up the dots on the journaling pages for easier writing. Your reward level included the printable versions of every book you ordered, which you can download at https://mathgames.backerkit.com.

Thank you all for supporting the Tabletop Math Games Collection campaign. It's been great fun!

May you and your children always enjoy the adventure of learning.

Best wishes,

Denise

Slight Delay: Books will be shipping soon!
over 2 years ago – Mon, Jul 10, 2023 at 11:53:01 AM

The big storm threw a tree on our roof and knocked out electricity and internet.

The tree is still there, but at least the power is back on.

So I've been catching up after the delay.

As much as I like adding little inspirational quotes when I sign my playful math books, I discovered why so many authors only sign their names or initials. It's so easy to make a "typo" when writing by hand!

Math is a whole world of interesting things to explore. What will you discover today?

(Note to self: Buy a few more extra copies next time.)

But I'm nearly done, and I haven't wasted *too* many books yet. And I did find one book that was misprinted, which I'm glad didn't get sent out to a reader.

Just one more box of books to sign...

Next job: packing for shipment. And yes, we're still on track to have everything mailed out by the end of this month. The deadline's just going to be a little tighter than I'd hoped.

Meanwhile, ALL your digital rewards should be available now at your BackerKit survey page (mathgames.backerkit.com). If you're missing anything, please let me know.

Have fun playing with math!

Denise

P.S.: Did your friends miss the Kickstarter? I do still have a few extra copies they can order through the BackerKit store: mathgames.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders. (Limited time only.)

Make Sure Your Mailing Address Is Up-to-Date!
almost 3 years ago – Mon, Jun 26, 2023 at 02:41:07 PM

Good news: The first shipment of our Tabletop Math Game Collection books have arrived, and they look great! I hope to begin sending out book orders next week.

That means I need to lock in your mailing address.

If you've moved or changed your address details in the last couple of months, you have 48 hours to enter your updated information. Go to https://mathgames.backerkit.com to sign in to your survey page.

Thank you again for supporting my playful math books!

My desk is buried in boxes!

All Digital Reward Files Delivered!
almost 3 years ago – Mon, May 01, 2023 at 08:05:19 AM

I formatted and sent out the A4 book files over the weekend. If you didn't see the notice, just sign in to your BackerKit account at mathgames.backerkit.com to download them.

This marks the last of our digital rewards. If you're missing anything or if you have any problems, please let me know. You can send me a message through Kickstarter or use the secure contact form on my blog (denisegaskins.com/about).

Physical reward backers: I've ordered the final proofs from my printer. That's about a month behind the schedule I'd hoped for, due to my daughter's health issues. But assuming the proofs look good, I think we're still on track to get your books in the mail by our end-of-July target date.

Thank you so much for all your generous support. May you always have fun playing math with your kids!
